So much of success comes down to hard work and determination. However, there are some other factors at play too and these are your rational and emotional strength. No matter how many hours you put in and how many emails you send, a negative mental attitude is an insurmountable obstacle standing between you and your career success. Some are naturally more inclined to have more positive traits than other, but anyone can work to develop it.
1. Self-Doubt
Self-doubt is an incredibly damaging mental state. If you don’t believe in yourself how can a future employer? On those days where you question your ability, take a step back and look at how far you’ve come, the challenges you’ve overcome and fears you’ve conquered. Don’t let self-doubt stand in your way to achieving everything you’ve ever dreamed of.
2. Fear
Fear of not succeeding is common but it is holding you back. If you never make the leap how will you ever succeed? Terrifying challenges are only your mind’s way of telling you something is important. and to try as hard as you can. Fear is healthy and will make you braver, stronger and more determined.
3. Distraction
Don’t let distractions keep you from success. Stay focused with steady progress through your to-do list then reward yourself at the end with whatever it is your like to be distracted by. Come up with strict timetables for when you’re allowed to entertain yourself and when you should get your head down.
4. Safety
The majority of people only regret the things they didn’t do when the opportunity was there. Life is too short to constantly live on the safe side. Regrets and “if only’s” are standing in the way of your success. Take chances and be daring.
5. Procrastination
The king of all self-sabotage is procrastination. Every day you spend not striving towards success and the career of your dream is a wasted day. Don’t do it tomorrow. Do it now. Self-discipline is one of the most valuable tools for your career.
