Everyone is guilty of stretching the truth in job interviews. Especially if you REALLY want the job, you’re in the hot seat, and you find yourself exaggerating or flat-out lying to convince the hiring manager your the one for the job. It is an easy trap to fall into, but it is not the best strategy. Interviews were not born yesterday and they can smell a lie from a mile off. They have seen and heard them all.
