When the search for the new job begins, your resume is the first point of contact. This is the first impression your potential future employer will have of you. How is the recruiter supposed to get in touch with you if you don’t include contact information? You would be surprised at the number of applicants who forget to include a phone number, email address, or worse, both. Of course there are always ways to find someone’s contact information, but don’t make it harder for the recruiter. Be professional and respectful and make it easy to contact you.<\/p>\n

It may be interesting that you like rock climbing and salsa dancing, but if it is not relevant to the job in question, leave it out. While true that these additions can add a bit of personality to the resume, be selective. The list is endless. The fact that you were captain of your high school football team or have a love for travelling is not going to make you more employable (unless you are a recent graduate). This type of irrelevant information is taking up valuable space in your resume. You should be focusing on hireable skills and achievements.<\/p>\n
